American Gridwork Partners has acquired three infrastructure businesses, including two established electrical contractors, as it expands its operating footprint across the Southeast and Ohio Valley.
The electrical companies are Lark Electric of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Group Electric of Nashville, Tennessee. A third acquisition is a national fiber and cabling company serving military, federal and mission-critical customers. American Gridwork Partners said that company will be formally announced separately.
Lark Electric was founded in 1963 and works in commercial and industrial electrical construction. The company has expanded its own regional presence through acquisitions of other electrical businesses.
Group Electric brings more than 30 years of commercial and industrial electrical contracting experience in the Nashville market. Its addition gives the platform another operating electrical contractor in a rapidly growing Southeast construction market.
American Gridwork Partners describes its strategy as building a group of specialized infrastructure businesses responsible for constructing, modernizing and maintaining physical systems. Electrical construction, industrial automation, energy infrastructure, communications and mission-critical systems are part of that market.
The platform said the acquired businesses will keep their operating identities and local leadership while gaining access to capital and shared resources. The approach is intended to support expansion without replacing the companies’ existing customer relationships and regional brands.
The acquisitions were announced September 3 through Business Wire and were carried by multiple financial-news services. Lark also issued a separate announcement describing its own partnership and continued leadership structure.
