Electrical Safety Director Opportunity
A confidential electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Director for its Charlotte, NC market. This opportunity is intended for a proven electrical construction professional who can take ownership of safety responsibilities while supporting safe execution, strong customer service, disciplined project controls, and profitable growth. The successful candidate will combine practical electrical construction knowledge with sound judgment, organization, communication, and leadership.
Experience
5–12+ years of construction safety experience is preferred, including meaningful exposure to electrical construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support safety programs for electrical construction operations.
- Perform jobsite audits, observations, incident investigations, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Coach field leaders and employees on safe work planning, hazard recognition, and accountability.
- Support energized-work planning, lockout/tagout, fall protection, excavation, lifting, and critical activities.
- Maintain safety documentation, training records, reports, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in preconstruction planning and identify safety risks before mobilization.
- Analyze trends and develop practical programs that improve safety performance.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, insurers, and regulators when required.
Qualifications
- Construction safety experience, preferably with an electrical contractor.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to conduct training, investigations, audits, and field coaching.
- Strong communication, leadership, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or similar credentials are beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively with craft employees and senior leadership.
