Electrical BIM Coordinator Opportunity
A confidential electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Coordinator for its Virginia Beach, VA market. This opportunity is intended for a proven electrical construction professional who can take ownership of BIM/VDC responsibilities while supporting safe execution, strong customer service, disciplined project controls, and profitable growth. The successful candidate will combine practical electrical construction knowledge with sound judgment, organization, communication, and leadership.
Experience
4–10+ years of electrical BIM, VDC, coordination, or electrical construction experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate electrical BIM/VDC models for power, lighting, feeders, equipment, and supports.
- Participate in multi-trade coordination and clash-detection meetings.
- Coordinate electrical routing with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems.
- Create installation drawings, spool drawings, layout information, and field-ready packages.
- Maintain model standards, file organization, naming conventions, and quality procedures.
- Work with project managers, field leadership, designers, and trade partners to resolve conflicts.
- Support prefabrication and model-based field installation.
- Track coordination status and communicate model changes.
Qualifications
- Experience with electrical BIM/VDC coordination and construction documentation.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or comparable platforms.
- Understanding of commercial electrical systems and installation practices.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and identify constructability conflicts.
- Strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Field electrical or prefabrication experience is beneficial.
