Design-Build Electrical Engineer Opportunity
A confidential electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Design-Build Electrical Engineer for its Lincoln, NE market. This opportunity is intended for a proven electrical construction professional who can take ownership of design responsibilities while supporting safe execution, strong customer service, disciplined project controls, and profitable growth. The successful candidate will combine practical electrical construction knowledge with sound judgment, organization, communication, and leadership.
Experience
5–10+ years of electrical design, design-build, engineering, or electrical construction experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop or manage electrical design criteria, narratives, calculations, layouts, and deliverables.
- Coordinate power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, fire alarm, and related systems.
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, field leaders, engineers, architects, and owners.
- Review designs for constructability, cost, code compliance, coordination, and value engineering.
- Support design-build and design-assist projects from conceptual planning through construction.
- Manage design changes, RFIs, submittal reviews, and AHJ coordination.
- Support equipment selection, utility coordination, and major system decisions.
- Align design deliverables with project budgets and construction schedules.
Qualifications
- Electrical design or design-build experience appropriate for the position.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and building electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret and develop drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable design standards.
- Revit, AutoCAD, or electrical analysis software experience is beneficial.
- PE licensure is beneficial for engineering-focused positions but may not be required.
