Electrical Preconstruction Estimator Opportunity
A confidential electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Preconstruction Estimator for its Milwaukee, WI market. This opportunity is intended for a proven electrical construction professional who can take ownership of preconstruction responsibilities while supporting safe execution, strong customer service, disciplined project controls, and profitable growth. The successful candidate will combine practical electrical construction knowledge with sound judgment, organization, communication, and leadership.
Experience
5–12+ years of electrical estimating or preconstruction experience is preferred, depending on position level.
Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, addenda, schedules, and bid requirements for electrical scope and risk.
- Prepare or lead takeoffs, labor extensions, material pricing, vendor quotes, and subcontractor scopes.
- Develop conceptual budgets, design-build estimates, negotiated estimates, and competitive bids.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, schedule impacts, and value opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations, project management, designers, vendors, and field leadership.
- Participate in estimate reviews, bid strategy, final pricing, proposals, and presentations.
- Support project turnover with clear assumptions, scope, pricing, and risk documentation.
- Maintain estimating standards, historical cost information, and market intelligence.
Qualifications
- Electrical estimating or preconstruction experience appropriate for the position.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, labor units, material pricing, and construction methods.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, narratives, schedules, and contracts.
- Experience with Accubid, Trimble products, Bluebeam, or comparable tools is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and deadline-management skills.
- Design-build, field, or large-project experience is beneficial.
